The blade arrived factory-sharpened and cuts through packed clay like butter, which I wasn’t expecting from a shovel. The heat-tempered steel held its edge after a full afternoon of edging beds, and the longer handle saves my back compared to my old one.

The heat-tempered blade cuts through my clay soil like butter, and the larger surface area really speeds up moving dirt. It feels solid in hand and does exactly what a good spade should.

I've been digging beds with this thing all spring and the sharpened edge slices through clay like it's nothing. The carbon steel has that old-school heft without wearing me out, which I didn't expect from a spade this size.
